Façade specialist seele has extensive experience in delivering complex retail projects worldwide. These include numerous Apple Stores as well as flagship stores for brands such as Nike, Dior and Tiffany. The Puma store on Oxford Street in London joins this portfolio of sophisticated all-glass solutions made by seele.
A statement in glass
For the new Puma store in London, seele realised a 250 sqm all-glass façade. The construction consists of a total of 16 insulating glass units as well as two 4-metre-high swing doors, which form the two entrance areas of the store. The fully mullion- and transom-free design ensures maximum transparency and makes the store experience visible from the outside.
The installation of the large-format glass panes placed high demands on planning and logistics. Due to the location on one of London’s busiest shopping streets, installation could only be carried out at night, when a temporary closure of Oxford Street was possible.
In addition to the façade construction, the 3.6 x 2.8 m Puma logo was also manufactured by seele and installed on site.
