how the light eyes for stuttgart 21 are installed

precision work under cover: how seele installs the unique steel-and-glass structures on site

They’re barely visible on the construction site of the future Stuttgart main station – and yet beneath the white tents, one of the most striking architectural elements of the new building is taking shape: the light eyes.

seele is assembling the complex steel-and-glass structures under protective tents on the Stuttgart 21 construction site. Once the steel elements are lifted into place, the tent is closed – and the real precision work begins inside: coating, painting, glazing, sealing.

A new video by Deutsche Bahn offers a fascinating look at the seele installation team’s work on the light eyes – a process that normally remains hidden from view. See for yourself! You’ll find more details about the project here.
