Gersthofen (Germany). The ISOshade® façade system is now available as a curved element. Rounded corner solutions or wave-shaped façades can now be realised as ISOshade®façades with curved solar shading integrated within the cavity.
With ISOshade®, seele offers a modular system that combines maximum planning reliability with the greatest possible design freedom. The economical double-skin façade with solar shades within the cavity is available in both flat and curved versions: all form-defining components follow the specified radius while the proven ISOshade® technology remains fully functional.
- glass panes, venetian blinds and profiles are curved to match the required radii.
- the curved shade remains fully operable and can be customised in terms of shape, colour and angle of inclination.
- ISOshade® elements can be combined in flat and curved versions: one system, seamlessly integrated.
ISOshade® curved bridges the gap between design and implementation, offering even more design options with its combination of flat and curved elements.
Architecture in new radii
Until now, curved façade elements have mostly been custom-made, requiring a high level of planning and fabrication effort. With ISOshade® curved, seele now offers a standardised, series-ready solution. Where hard building edges once dominated, smooth transitions and harmonious curves can now be achieved – without compromising any function or performance.
The curved version offers all the proven benefits of ISOshade®
- protected sun shading elements
- modular construction
- no active ventilation of the space between the glass panes
- low maintenance
- quick and easy access for servicing the venetian blind
- creative freedom
Whether elegant building corners or flowing shapes: ISOshade® curved brings a sense of lightness to architecture and achieves maximum transparency – technically precise and aesthetically perfect.
ISOshade® curved with rounded slats
seele developed the special round slats in collaboration with Hella, a leading supplier of sun protection systems. For installation within the sealed cavity, the slats must not only be dimensionally stable but also be completely residue- and fogging-free, ensuring that no deposits or clouding form on the glass panes. At the same time, the venetian blind must operate reliably over the long term within the closed system.
ISOshade® is designed to allow easy access for servicing and the replacement of individual components at any time. For this purpose, the motor is mounted outside.
“Each curved slat can be precisely tailored to the project in terms of radius, colour and angle,” says Andreas Komm, Business Developer for ISOshade®, seele GmbH.
More design and high-tech features
As part of the continuous advancement of this high-performance façade element, additional design and high-tech features have been integrated.
With ISOshade® lumen, light is now integrated directly into the cavity of the element for the first time, opening up new aesthetic and functional possibilities – particularly for the night-time presence of urban architecture. By illuminating the ISOshade® element itself, energy consumption remains minimal. The light is used to highlight the building envelope specifically, rather than the entire building.
Mirrored inner side surfaces enhance the luminous intensity, dissolve the optical depth of the façade and create reflections and dynamic light effects across the entire building envelope.
With top ratings in thermal insulation, ISOshade® sets new standards for modern, sustainable and modular construction. ISOshade® is a benchmark for the future of building envelopes – from curved elements and compressed-air valves to smart sensors with optimised IoT software interfaces.
