The Bangkok skyline with the MahaNakhon skyscraper, known for its observation deck and nickname ‘Pixel Skyscraper’

observation deck of the highest order

spectacular views of bangkok’s skyline from the mahanakhon tower

With 77 floors and a height of 314 m, MahaNakhon is the tallest building in Bangkok. The observation deck of this skyscraper offers a breathtaking view of the metropolis. seele built a cantilevered glass platform for this vantage point, which offers an impressive view straight down for those with a head for heights.

the “skywalk” observation deck

seele installed six glass panels, each measuring 4.0 x 2.7 m, for this viewing platform. With its 60 sqm glass floor, the Skywalk provides an unobstructed view straight down, creating a fascinating sense of weightlessness. The transparent balustrade further enhances the experience.

elevator in a glass cylinder

Thanks to a glass elevator, the journey to the observation deck is also extraordinary. The visitors’ lift travels inside 600 sqm of curved glass: two glass cylinders, one inside the other, with a spiral staircase in between. Since the cylinder rises above the observation deck, it is exposed to high wind loads. To address this, tension rods are integrated into the vertical joints between the glass panels. After each cylindrical segment was placed in position, a stainless steel ring and tie rods were pretensioned to secure the entire cylinder to the building.
