The three façades (store front, main and penthouse façades) cover a total area of 4,570sqm and are based on a rigorous modular design. At street level, the extensive use of glass dematerialises the façade and the penthouse floor is set back. As a result, the main façade becomes the dominant focus of the building. This façade has a surface of 3,800sqm and is composed of aluminium elements. The individual elements are hung in front of an aluminium substructure and reinforced with steel brackets where structurally necessary. The lateral edges of the aluminium frames are visible from the front – glass panes and terracotta sit precisely “framed” in their modules. Regardless of the material, visually uniform joints are used, giving the façade the sharp-edged geometry desired. It stands out owing to its continuous surface, made rhythmic by changes in the material and narrow light cut-outs.
