An 8,700sqm façade has been realised for the lower part, which has a reinforced concrete skeleton structure as supporting scaffolding. In order to keep the building envelope as open and transparent as possible, the steel columns of the substructure are kept very slim. Another special feature: the podium borders directly on the high-rise slab of the Pressehaus am Alexanderplatz. This panel is one of Berlin's monuments and therefore special requirements had to be met during the construction work. The challenge here was to keep the basic structure as slim as possible.
