As a Warehouse Logistics Specialist, you receive goods, check their quality and quantity, and store them correctly. You also pick materials for production, prepare goods for dispatch and help to ensure that logistics processes run efficiently. In doing so, you work both hands-on in the warehouse and with modern IT systems for warehouse management.

Receiving and checking goods

You receive deliveries, check the goods for completeness and quality, and verify the accompanying documents. You then ensure that the materials are stored correctly.

Picking and preparing materials

You assemble materials and components for production and ensure that these arrive at the correct workstation on time. In doing so, you work with modern warehouse management systems and handling equipment.

Packing and dispatching goods

You prepare materials for dispatch, pack them correctly and assist with organising domestic and international deliveries. In this way, you ensure that our components arrive safely at the customer’s premises.

Managing stock levels

You’ll assist with stock control, carry out stock-takes and record goods movements in our warehouse management system. This ensures you always have a clear overview of our stock levels.

Collaborating with various departments

You’ll work closely with colleagues from the warehouse, purchasing, production and dispatch departments. Together, you’ll ensure that our projects are optimally supplied with materials and that all logistical processes run smoothly.

The dual apprenticeship as a Warehouse Logistics Specialist usually lasts 3 years. Under certain conditions, such as very good academic performance, it may be possible to complete the programme in a shorter time.

For this apprenticeship, you should:

• have at least a qualifying secondary school leaving certificate,
• have good marks in math and German,
• be organised and meticulous,
• enjoy practical work and being on the move,
• enjoy working in a team and be reliable,
• handle materials carefully and responsibly.

The training programme is very hands-on. Right from the start, you’ll be actively involved in our warehouse and will gradually take on your own responsibilities. The practical training is complemented by vocational school lessons, where you’ll learn the theoretical basics of warehouse logistics and inventory management.

At seele, warehouse logistics is about much more than simply moving goods from A to B. During your apprenticeship, you’ll gain an understanding of the entire flow of goods – from incoming goods through to storage and order picking, right through to packaging and dispatch. You’ll work with modern warehouse management systems and take on a varied range of tasks.

Teamwork plays a key role in this: together with colleagues from the warehouse, purchasing, production and dispatch departments, you’ll ensure that materials are in the right place at the right time. As part of your apprenticeship, you will also obtain a forklift and crane operator’s licence.

On your first day at seele in Gersthofen near Augsburg, you will meet the other apprentices, dual-study students, and your trainers. You will learn about the company and take part in exciting tours of our production facilities and the entire site.

After a shared lunch, you will be welcomed by your mentor, who will support you during your first weeks and help you settle in quickly. You will then get to know the team you will be working with during your first year of training.

Vocational school lessons take place weekly. During these blocks, you will study the theoretical fundamentals of warehouse logistics and explore topics in greater depth, such as goods receipt, storage, dispatch, logistics processes, health and safety, economics and social studies, as well as how to use modern warehouse management systems.

The combination of theoretical lessons and practical training provides a solid foundation for successfully completing your apprenticeship.

The goal of the apprenticeship programme at seele is to offer you a permanent position. This is also reflected in our consistently high retention rate. If both parties are satisfied with the apprenticeship and the terms of future employment are suitable for both you and the company, there is nothing standing in the way of your permanent hire.

After completing your apprenticeship, you can work in the areas of warehouse logistics, goods receipt, dispatch or materials management. As you gain more professional experience, you can take on greater responsibility and further your career, for example, by qualifying as a Logistics Supervisor (m/f/d), a Logistics Systems Specialist (m/f/d) or through further training.

During your training, you will work fixed hours. You will usually start work at 7 am.

The training allowance varies depending on the year of training. In the first year of training, the allowance is €1,100 gross and increases in subsequent years.

As an apprentice (m/f/d) at seele GmbH in Gersthofen, you’ll be entitled to 30 days of annual leave. Special leave can also be requested if required.

Apprenticeship contract

If, after the interview, you can see yourself starting your apprenticeship with us and we believe you would be a great addition to our team, we will arrange a further meeting to sign your apprenticeship contract. If you are under 18, your parents or legal guardians are also welcome to attend.

Your apprenticeship will then begin on 1 September, and we look forward to welcoming you to the seele team.
