membrane expertise by seele

high-performance membrane structures

seele transforms membranes into innovative lightweight constructions. Always functional, always aesthetic. Using air pressure, custom printing and intricate subtructures, seele shapes high-strength engineering textiles into multifunctional designs that, despite their lightness, possess immense load-bearing capacity. Whether for structural support, lighting, aesthetics, building physics or the control of light and climate – seele’s membrane structures adapt to every requirement.

the principle of lightweight membrane construction: low in weight, big in ecology

sustainable throughout its life cycle

100 % circular economy

Membrane architecture is unparalleled in terms of sustainability because it uses less material, has a long service life and is 100 % recyclable. In particular, sorting different materials is easy and they can be reused in the same way – without the need for upcycling. ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) films, for instance, are 100 % recyclable – something that cannot be said of many materials. Indeed, many other products are combinations of more than one material. But ETFE cladding is made from 100 % pure ETFE and remains a high quality material when recycled.
