seele also provided the cantilevering 250sqm aluminium canopy in wood-look finish, the main function of which is to provide shade.
The real challenge on this project was the time available for design work, which was just one month, and the subsequent short erection period, because the work had to be carried out beneath the finished main roof. That meant it was impossible to use the cranes normally needed to erect such large panes of glass. seele therefore devised a rail setup especially for this project so that the panes of glass could be slid into the building before being installed. seele was able to complete the work on site in just eight months and thus add this Apple Store to its list of successful structural glass projects in Asia.
