Since 2018, another retail project on New York‘s 5th Avenue can be counted to seele, Inc.’s projects. Next to the Dyson Global Store, which was also realised by seele, a new High Profile Store of the sports brand “Nike” was created. seele was commissioned with the design, fabrication and installation of various scopes for this 6-storied building project. The focus was on the realisation of an approx. 1,000sqm steel-and-glass façade, consisting of a substructure made of steel profiles with Sefix-System and 75 insulating glass units. Both outer annealed glass panels create a very special optical effect: They are slumped and have a diagonally milled stripe pattern at the raised parts. The inner glass laminate, also consisting of 2x10mm annealed glass panels, is plane.

For the installation on the substructure, U-shaped holding rails are affixed on the backside of the insulating glass units. All in all, there are 5 types and forms are individual from rectangle to trapezoid or triangle.
The retail store‘s entrance façade is designed as an all-glass structure consisting of 9 panes up to 5m height and 2.70m width which are only connected by structural silicone. Furthermore, two double-leaf glass doors supported by stainless steel portal frames are integrated into the façade. Moreover the scope includes two interior double-leaf glass doors. Especially the ambitious schedule was challenging: The installation had to be completed within only 5 months. With this sixth project on 5th Avenue, seele once again proved its expertise in a sophisticated storefront façade.
