seele drives secure building control forward

04/08/2024 For several months now, seele has been working on the German research project "SHIQ“ that adresses secure heterogeneous IoT systems in real estate and districts. As part of the programme funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the company is focusing on the safe integration of façades into an open source platform for building control.

Until now, the various building automation systems have not been linked to each other and the building envelope has not been integrated into an intelligent, digital ecosystem. seele wants to change this as part of SHIQ and connect the various components of the Internet of Things (IoT).

Intelligent façades
Building envelopes provide a valuable basis for building technology as well as energy and resource consumption because they regulate solar radiation and solar energy gains and losses during heating periods and influence the natural incidence of light. The integration of façades into building automation therefore harbours great savings potential.

Thanks to its many years of expertise in the field of IoT systems in the construction industry, seele is a predestined partner for SHIQ. In addition, the company's product range already includes ISOshade®, a proven and smart façade element. The sensor and actuator technology in ISOshade® will be used to test SHIQ's research results at a later date.
