For the project in New York, profiles for the steel structure of the geometrically demanding roofing are processed daily. In order to achieve the shape of the steel ladders, the individual steel profiles are twisted at certain angles with the aid of the specially manufactured and programmed torsion machine. With a torque of 50,000Nm, angles of up to ±30 º are possible. The maximum piece length that the torsion machine can process is 2m. However, depending on the application, longer components can also be twisted in several steps. Even beyond the project, the machine will be ideally suited for further steel-glass constructions and gridshell structures.
